What is the difference between DMF and silica gel desiccant in inhibiting the mildew of goods
Dec 12, 2018

DMF (dimethyl fumarate) is a separate anti-fungal agent that is synthesized from certain chemical raw materials and is an organic compound. In principle, dimethyl fumarate enters the microbial cells by penetrating the cell membrane of the microorganism, thereby exerting its inhibitory effect on the mold;

Silica gel desiccant is an adsorbent whose adsorption capacity is because it contains a large amount of nano-scale microporous structure and does not need to be supported by any external conditions. Silica gel desiccant can be regarded as an inorganic oxide element, which can inhibit the mold by absorbing the moisture in the air and destroying the living environment of the mold.

Note: On March 17, 2009, the European Commission adopted the “Decision Requesting Member States to Guarantee Not to Put Products Containing the Biocide Dimethyl Fumarate (DMF) on the Market or Sell the Product” (2009/251) /EC), since May 1, 2009, EU member states banned the release of products with a DMF content of more than 0.1 ppm or sold them on the market. Products containing DMF that have been placed on the market or sold in the market should be on the market. Recycling with consumers.
