During the transportation of cocoa beans, due to the high oil content of cocoa beans, mold produced in confined spaces for a long time may cause self-heating or even fermentation and damage its quality. Desiccant strips for dry CoCoa Beans is a product that prevents cocoa beans from spoiling due to mold during transportation. The product uses materials with strong hygroscopic ability as fillers, which are food grade and can be directly applied to food. It has a sturdy and durable packaging on the outside, which not only has excellent breathability but also effectively prevents chemical leakage problems.

Desiccant strips for dry CoCoa Beans become harder after absorbing moisture, they are both moisture wicking and mildew resistant. For added convenience in practical applications, we offer desiccant strips with hanging holes and ropes that you simply hang from hooks in the compartment. This method saves space and completely avoids direct contact with cocoa beans. The desiccant bars are a very environmentally friendly product, they are DMF free. As a super absorbent material, they are used in a wide range of applications, such as food transportation, medicine, clothing and other industries.

Under suitable ambient conditions (temperature > 25°C, high relative humidity, lack of oxygen supply) and due to their high oil content, cocoa beans have a tendency to self-heating and postfermentation. Some species of fungus, such as Aspergillus fumigatus, participate in the self-heating.


It is essential that containers are properly prepared in order to achieve good quality transport out-turn as follows:

CHUNWANG high efficient desiccants must always be used for condensation control, e.g. for a 20 ft GP undergoing maximum seasonal influences in north south traffic,  8kg bags should be used. They are arranged aft direction on top of the Kraft paper covering the bags and four facing the doorway on the floor;
